Paul Hanford’s book, Coming to Berlin is a collection of portraits of various figures from the electronic music scene of Berlin. It gives an overview of this scene after the pandemic through the personal stories of the author as well as the stories of DJs and musicians he interviewed. In that regard, the narrative draws on the encounters with people and everyday experiences in the city rather than the historical and political context of the city and its close connection with clubs and techno.
